My art is driven
by my own inquiry and curiosity in others. At the same time, each of my photos reveal
something of myself – my reality, my perception, my deep longing to relate to others.
I tend to focus on communities less recognized within mainstream media. Each photo
is a piece of evidence pointing to the existence of each of these individuals.
I am conscientious
of the space between myself and my subjects and how this space depicts a shared
acknowledgement of one another. My work is about encounter, interaction, and the
most basic needs of survival that we share the need to be heard. My work attempts
to represent cultures.
